Violinist Pekkos Per (1808–1877) had a major impact on folk music in Dalarna. He was from Bingsjö in Rättviks Finnmark and played at many weddings in Bingsjö, Rättvik, Boda and Hälsingland. He also instructed several musicians who later became “Bingsjö violinists” and was early to recognise the talent of the most famous among them: Hjort Anders Olsson.
